Since the beginning of the new academic year, another edition of the Oral History Seminars
has been underway – a joint initiative of the Polish Oral History Association (PTHM), the Oral
History Section of the Committee of Historical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences
(KNH PAN), and the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences
(IFiS PAN).
The new series began in Warsaw on the fourth Wednesday of October with a presentation
by Dr Jolanta Epstein, who introduced an interview from the project Czechoslovak–Polish
Academic Networks during the Cold War: Between Grand Politics and Individual Strategies.
As announced, we are taking the seminars on the road across Poland. We aim to keep a
regular meeting time of 2:00 p.m., although this will not always be possible.
The second seminar took place in Wrocław on the first Wednesday of December and was
devoted to the analysis of two interviews from the oral history archive of the “Memory and
Future” Centre, presented by Dr Kamil Borecki.
Please follow the announcements for each upcoming event, as the seminars will be held in
different cities. We encourage you to save the dates in advance and to share information
about the meetings with local oral history practitioners and others interested in this method
and the topics discussed.
The schedule for the forthcoming Oral History Seminars is as follows:
29 January | Gdańsk
Andrzej Hoja and Marcin Jarząbek – Our Boys 1: Wehrmacht soldiers from Upper Silesia and
Pomerania. The analysis of two interviews will be contextualized by the exhibition Our Boys
at the Museum of Gdańsk.

context of its Polish translation. The translator, Justyna Czechowska, will join us as a guest.
27 March | Łódź
